I really like this opening especially as it's a just a rough cut. It already seems to have all the information it needs to both inform the viewer and to raise enigmas.
Although normally I'd say be careful to make sure the shot is kept steady, the slightly shaky camera here works quite well, adding to the effect that the dancer is being watched. The insets of the eyes and black and white photo work well, especially as it goes from one quite saturated shot of the dancers to the dark ones, causing quite a dramatic effect.
I like the close up and slightly out of focus shot of the dancer used near the beginning, it sort of reminds me of a home video.
If possible I think that the fades between shots should be slightly lengthier, as it would give the viewer a little more time to take in what they've seen. Also the film of the dancers could be a little shorter, as if the whole film was centered around dancers, it could get a little repetitive and the viewer could lose interest.
The last shot in the bathroom is very effective. The shot used is also very good, and is done very smoothly. As soon as you think you've sussed out what's going on (the girl is being stalked), it's turned completely on it's head.
New enigmas are raised;
Was the girl imagining it?
Is the film to do with mental health?
Is the stalker just very stealthy?
Yet the idea that the girl is imagining it contradicts the idea that comes with the title of the film, 'Infatuation'.
I think one problem is that it seems a little too similar to Black Swan - Ballet dancers, stalkers and mental health.
