Hidden- Michael Haneke 2003

During the opening of Hidden we discover who the main characters are. They are a french lady, man and their son. We also find out the location which is the street outside their house and lots of enigmas are formed. These include: why was there a video of their house left on their door, and why are they watching it for 2 hours. There is also diegetic sound of cars, footsteps, speech and birds, which are also on the tape.

The cinematography includes one shot showing cars going past and some staying where they are. There is also a point of view shot and a tracking shot of the road, showing its important. The tracking shot as she walks across the road.
The mise en scene includes a house which has lots of books and a normal homely setup. All the clothes they are wearing are normal too.
