Sound Analysis of Case 342

In the thriller opening Case 342 a constant distorted non diegetic sound was played throughout creating an eerie uncertain atmosphere. The non diegetic voice over of the murderer explaining what happened represents the voice recording that the police are taking of him as he sits in the cell (shown at the beginning of the thriller). The information that the murderer was giving to the police was not completely contrapuntal but the visuals did not completely match to the voice over as he left out vital details such as; killing a person who was in the house and dragging the body from the bedroom to the bathroom. A sound bridge is used constantly throughout all the scenes, telling the story of the what happened the day that the victim was murdered.
